# Jira / Atlassian Cloud Confluence REST API page updates will require approved drafts in some spaces

In Confluence spaces that require approval before publishing, direct updates to published regular pages through the REST APIs will return HTTP 409 Conflict. Integrations must save changes as a draft, complete approval, and publish the approved draft. Other spaces and content types are unchanged. No rollout date has been announced yet.
