# DigitalOcean DOKS enables the CoreDNS Cluster Proportional Autoscaler during upgrades

When an existing DOKS cluster is upgraded to version 1.37 or later, DOKS automatically enables the CoreDNS Cluster Proportional Autoscaler plugin if CoreDNS is still running the default of two replicas.
