The Create Deployment API, firectl and the Python SDK add deploymentShape: "default" (Fireworks picks a validated shape and fails with an error rather than overriding request fields) and acceptShapelessRisk=true (explicitly create without a shape). Fireworks says enforcement is coming soon, without a date: shapeless creation will then require acceptShapelessRisk, so requests should pass a shape or default now.
