# GitHub Withdrawn Dependabot alerts return 410 Gone and send a withdrawn webhook action

Getting or updating a withdrawn Dependabot alert through the REST API now returns 410 Gone instead of 404 Not Found. The dependabot\_alert webhook event gains a withdrawn action whose payload carries the alert number, GHSA and CVE IDs, package and manifest path captured before removal. Live on github.com; coming to GitHub Enterprise Server 3.24.
