# Notion API Free workspace block limits now apply to the REST API

The REST API now enforces the Free workspace block limit (1,000 lifetime blocks for Free workspaces with more than one member) for internal connections and OAuth connections restricted to selected workspaces. After the three-day grace period, requests that create blocks (create a page or database, append block children, block-adding page or block updates) fail with HTTP 403, and queued templates can stop part way. Reads, deletes and edits that add no blocks keep working; personal access tokens and public OAuth connections are not affected.
