# Notion API Notion icon URLs are validated

An external icon URL that points at Notion's built-in icon set now sets a native icon that reads back as type icon, and one that names no real Notion icon or color returns a validation\_error instead of saving a broken icon. In Notion MCP, the page icon parameter of notion-create-pages and notion-update-page now accepts the icons/NAME identifier that notion-fetch returns.
