# Plaid Chase consent expiration can break Items and expire TANs

Chase consent durations can be 6 months, 1 year, or always. When consent expires, the Item will break and any associated Tokenized Account Number (TAN) will expire, causing payments made using that TAN to fail. Existing Chase Items default to always, but users can change the duration. The earliest expirations are expected in February 2027.
