# PlanetScale New container restart metrics for Prometheus

PlanetScale deprecated the planetscale\_pods\_container\_restarts\_total Prometheus metric, whose restart-reason label split series and skewed rate() and increase(). Use planetscale\_pods\_container\_status\_restarts\_total and the planetscale\_pods\_container\_last\_terminated\_reason gauge instead; the old metric keeps working until a removal date is announced.
