# Sanity MCP server upload tools change their inputs and responses

Sanity MCP server v2.40.0 adds Media Library tools and media\_library\_upload\_from\_file. It also changes two tools: dataset\_assets\_upload\_from\_file now returns a compact asset summary and document reference instead of the full asset document unless includeMetadata: true is set, and media\_library\_upload\_from\_url no longer accepts parent or rootDirectory and uses the filename as the title unless autoGenerateTitle: true is set.
