# Shopify Segment query functions use MATCHES syntax in API version 2026-10

In GraphQL Admin API version 2026-10, customer segment query functions use MATCHES / NOT MATCHES instead of = true / = false, e.g. shopify\_email.opened MATCHES () instead of shopify\_email.opened() = true, and parameters take their own operators, e.g. products\_purchased MATCHES (quantity = 5) instead of products\_purchased(quantity: 5) = true. Update segment queries before moving to 2026-10.
