# Stripe canConfirm is false while Checkout Session updates are pending in Elements

In Elements with Checkout Sessions (2026-09-30.endive), Stripe.js now sets canConfirm to false while a Custom Checkout server update is queued or in progress; once pending updates finish it again reflects whether the checkout is ready to confirm. Previously canConfirm did not change during pending updates. Stripe marks this breaking for flows that rely on canConfirm.
