# Stripe India card mandates are returned on Charges and SetupIntents even when inactive

In API version 2026-09-30.endive, for India recurring card payments, payment\_method\_details.card.mandate on Charges and mandate on SetupIntents return the mandate ID even when registration failed and the mandate is inactive (previously null), and a new mandate can start inactive instead of pending. Off-session payments with an inactive mandate fail.
