# Twilio Critical fix: Java Helper Library 13.0.0: fixes crash on unknown fields in nested API responses

Twilio Java Helper Library 10.0.0 through 12.1.1 throw ApiConnectionException when a nested API response contains an unknown field, which can happen whenever Twilio adds an optional field. Upgrade to 13.0.0 or later as soon as possible; 13.0.0 has its own breaking changes, so follow the upgrade guide. Other helper libraries are not affected.
