# VTEX Master Data API v2: schema saves return 423 Locked for 12 hours after a full reindex

In Master Data API v2, a Save schema by name call that triggers a full reindex of a data entity now locks further schema saves on that entity for 12 hours; while locked, the endpoint returns 423 Locked with a Message saying a reindex is in progress and, when available, when to retry. Document saves are not blocked. Integrations that update schemas programmatically should treat 423 as expected and retry later.
